The holiday season brings a special kind of energy to our Las Vegas branch. Among the usual trade show equipment and event materials, you’ll find something different this time of year: colorful bags fill our facility, each one representing a child’s holiday wishes.
This transformation is part of the Las Vegas Hospitality Association’s (LVHA) annual “Fill-A-Bag with Cheer” program. This year, LVHA adopted 450 children at Walter Long STEAM Academy—the largest number since COVID. Each student will receive a personalized bag filled with winter essentials, school supplies, and holiday gifts.
Walk into our facility during sorting day, and you’ll witness the true spirit of community service. LVHA board members, industry partners, and volunteers work side by side, meticulously checking each bag to ensure every child’s wishes are met.
On Distribution Day at Walter Long STEAM Academy, our AV team adds to the festive atmosphere, providing sound support that fills the halls with holiday cheer. The real magic happens when students open their bags, their faces lighting up as they discover the items they wished for.
The spirit of giving extends beyond Las Vegas, with Shepard associates from Texas and Atlanta joining our local team to adopt 76 children this year. This grassroots effort brings together associates from all departments, including our union warehouse team, with everyone contributing their own resources to make these holiday wishes come true.
Since 2007, “Fill-A-Bag with Cheer” demonstrates how the Las Vegas hospitality community comes together to support its neighbors in need. We’re grateful to play a part in this tradition that strengthens our community and makes the holidays brighter for our youngest neighbors.
